Stop insulting Jonathan, PDP leader tells Nigerian youth

He said most Nigerian youth have been deceived into believing that to be a progressive you have to insult the President.
The National Coordinator, Peoples’ Democratic Party Youth Frontier, PDPYF, Austin Usman, on Tuesday asked Nigerians to desist from insulting the office of the Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan.
Stating that the seat of the President is the most exalted throne in every country, Mr. Usman advised Nigerians, especially youth, to refrain from using strong words while referring to the President.
The strong words he said include appellations like clueless, fool, and stupid.
He also that these word are not only unacceptable, their use “downgrades the potency of the number one office in Nigeria.”
He said most Nigerian youth have been deceived into believing that to be a progressive you have to insult the President. He cautioned that the insults could lead to destabilization of the present administration.
He asked all Nigerians to refrain from insulting the president and accused a former minister, Nasir El Rufai, of being culpable of insulting leaders.

“Before you insult Mr. President, let us think twice and reflect back on the antecedent of the so called saint and Mr. perfect! El’rufai has eventually condemned everybody,” he said.
Mr. Usman advised Nigerian youth not to emulate the elder ones.
“We are youth today we are the leaders of tomorrow, we shouldn’t allow men of yesterday to destroy our tomorrow,” he said.
He, therefore, asked Nigerians to see the president as the father of all.
“President is the head of this country therefore he is the father of all either you like it or not. For that a father should be respected. Insulting a father of the house is not part of African culture,” he said.
“We must unite to support Mr. President in transforming this Nation. Most of them fanning the ember of discord and unrest have different houses abroad as many of their children are not even in this country.”
